The seat (included) clips in high on the side tubes, so it gives you good lower back support.

You are sitting on a soft floor, which is nice under the bum.
The front thwart acts as a foot brace – you adjust the straps of the seat to get the right leg length for the thwart.
Note that if you need more than lower back support, our other kayaks have high-backed seats.

You can close the self-bailing ports down the sides if you are in flat water or cold water and want to stay dry.
You can open the self-bailing ports down the sides to allow the kayak to drain if you are in mild whitewater (up to class III) or out in the open ocean.
