Spacious and sturdy – can load it up with gear for multi-day kayaking expeditions

Who is this kayak NOT for?
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is capable of up to Class II whitewater, but it's not really designed for whitewater.
Although the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is stable enough and durable enough for fishing, if you are going to be fishing a LOT, you may prefer a sit on top style kayak where you can use the Accessory Frame System or the Adhesive Starport Mount.
If you are traveling and need to keep your vehicle weight down, be aware that the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is 23.5kg.
If one paddler is above 110kg, you may wish to consider the superior rigidity of a full-dropstitch kayak

Comparing the Convertible Elite to the Standard Soft Floor Convertible
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite looks almost the same as the AdvancedFrame Convertible kayaks... so what makes it so 'Elite'?
In this short video you will learn about the 3 key differences between the AdvancedFrame Convertible kayak and the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak.
The bag. Both kayaks come with a rugged duffel bag, but the Elite version has detachable, padded backpack straps. Handy if you need to walk a short distance to the launch point.
Both kayaks have lovely high-backed seats, but the Elite version has an inflatable lumbar cushion inside each seat. If you are planning a fairly long paddle, it's great to have extra back support.
The floor. The AdvancedFrame Convertible has a soft floor inside it. It is like a lilo, or an airbed. You inflate it to low pressure (1 PSI) and it basically acts as a cushion for you to sit on. It doesn't not add any rigidity to the kayak. The AdvancedFrame convertible Elite, on the other hand, has a drop-stitch floor. You inflate it to high pressure (4-6 PSI) and it becomes rigid, like an inflatable stand-up paddle board. The rigidity improves the performance of the kayak and the hard chines in the hull improve tracking.

AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite Kayak with Pump FAQ
Wowser fast!
The high-pressure drop-stitch floor (included) gives you excellent rigidity and a very smooth hull bottom, so you glide through the water gracefully.
The built-in fin and the awesome AdvancedFrame hull design give you a wonderful paddling experience.
Yes!
The tracking is excellent.
The high-pressure drop-stitch floor plays a big part in this. The enhanced rigidity helps the kayak glide through the water smoothly.
The aluminium ribs in the bow and stern stop the kayak from waggling and the fin helps it glide straight.
Not much.
All kayaks are wind affected to some degree.
You can generally predict how wind affected it’s going to be based on the ratio of kayak above the waterline to kayak below the waterline.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite is a sit-in kayak, so it sits quite low in the water, especially compare to other inflatables, so it performs quite well in wind.
The seat (included) has a stiff, high back, which gives you excellent support, IF you get the angle right.
The seat includes an inflatable cushion for extra lumbar support – you can blow it up as you are paddling via a tube with a mouth piece.
You can purchase the optional inflatable foot brace for the front paddler, which adds to your comfort by supporting your lower back as you paddle.
There is a foot brace for the rear paddler included. Note that this works by having the brace push up against the seat back of the front paddler. You will need to adjust the seat straps to get yourselves in the right position for this to work.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak comes with a foot brace for the rear paddler, and you can buy the inflatable foot brace for the front paddler. A lot of paddlers swear by foot braces for encouraging good paddling technique and for supporting the lower back.
If you want to paddle it solo and you want foot support, you will need to purchase the Adjustable Foot Pegs.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak has very good back support – the seat back is high and stiff with adjustable straps to get the angle right. It also includes inflatable lumbar support.
Yes!
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is ideal for taking dogs.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is very spacious and has an open cockpit, which means customers often fit two people and two dogs in.
The drop-stitch floor inside the kayak is super tough, you do not need any reinforcement.
The wide flat hull means the kayak is very stable so you won’t all go over board if your dog gets excited and makes a sudden move (not that they ever do that …).
Yes.
The wide flat hull means the kayak is very stable so you can focus on fishing and relaxing.
This video is from Life Below Zero who use the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak to make this fishing video:
The rip-stop polyester material is extremely durable, give you the confidence that neither fish nor fishing gear will cause a puncture.
Optional kayak anchor if the fish are biting and you want to stay where you are.
Optional accessory frame if you want to attach additional rod holders, an EPERB, a fish finder, go-pro etc.
***NOTE – to install the accessory frame on the AdvancedFrame Convertible elite kayak, you have to cut holes in the deck and inner tube covers.
Yes.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is great for taking kids!
It’s super-stable, so the kids can have a nap and muck around without tipping it over.
It’s very big and has a wide-open cockpit, so there’s heaps of space.
Yes, it’s a great choice for at tender.
It’s got the high-pressure drop-stitch floor which makes it easy to step into and out of.
The wide-open cockpit also makes it easy to step in and out of.
There is a huge amount of deck space and capacity (250kg) for gear if you are using it to transport your stuff to and from shore.
**Caution – do not leave the kayak inflated on the deck of the boat. The heat will cause the pressure to rise and you could damage the kayak.
It’s fast and comfortable enough for anything from 1 hour to a full-day trip.
It’s even great for multi-day expeditions!
Yes!
The AdvancedFrame design helps it cut through chop very well, and you can use the Double Deck Conversion or the Single Deck Conversion to put on a spray skirt to keep out the waves.
No.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is fine for class 1 and 2 whitewater, however it is really designed to paddle in a straight line, and therefore not recommended for rivers above class 2.
Yes, it is definitely suitable for beginners. I should note, however, that generally speaking, solo kayaks are easier to paddle than tandem kayaks, which require some level of cooperation…
The key feature for beginners is stability and the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is wonderfully stable, so no dramas there.
The design is so good that it’s super-easy to paddle straight.
The wide-open cockpit makes it easy for people to get in and out.
Good question.
In my experience, seniors are looking for a lightweight kayak, and at 24kg, the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is one of our heaviest.
If you think that with good teamwork you can lift 24kg, then it is a wonderful kayak for seniors.
The other key features for seniors are stability and ease of getting in and out – the AdvancedFrame Sport Convertible Elite is extremely stable and the wide open cockpit makes it easy to get in and out of.
Not on their own, but with an adult it’s a great option. You can even fit a couple of kids in and let them take turns.
Yes, generally speaking it’s easy to get in and out of.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is VERY stable, which is one of the key features for getting in and out easily.
Although it is a sit-in kayak, the rear paddler’s legs are not covered at all and the front paddlers’s legs are inside a deck that has a nice long zipper on it, so you can open it up to get out.
The only issue might be if you are using the Single Deck Conversion or the Double Deck Conversion, in which case you have to get in and out of cockpits. These cockpits are standard sized for kayaks, so most people can manage it fine. If you have VERY long legs or your mobility is compromised, you might want to leave the decks off.
Yes, the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is LONG inside.
You can adjust the seat straps to bring the seat closer to the front of the kayak, or further back in the cockpit to give you more leg room.
If that’s still not enough room, you can remove the inflatable foot brace for the rear paddler.
The maximum capacity is 250kg / 400lbs.
I have found that the drop-stitch floor greatly enhances the rigidity of the kayak, so you really can go up to the maximum capacity.
Advanced Elements have been making inflatable kayaks for well over 20 years – you don’t have to worry about quality.
All kayaks are inflated at the factory and left for 24 hours to ensure there are no slow leaks.
The main hull material used is called PVC tarpaulin and it is super thick and tough.
The floor is high quality drop-stitch, also extremely tough:
In the extremely rare case that you damage the hull, the kayak comes with a repair kit, so you can put on a patch.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is a sit-in kayak, but it comes with a wide-open cockpit so it’s easy to get in and out of.
There are optional decks that you can zip on to give you cockpits with inflatable coaming. These cockpits help keep the spray out of the kayak and allow you to attach a spray skirt.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is a tandem kayak – this means it has seating for 2 people.
There is a third seating position in the middle that allows you to paddle it solo.
Deflated and packed dimensions are:
91cm x 53cm x 33cm
You can get the depth (33cm) down a bit by putting the seats somewhere else, but the other dimensions can’t really be altered.
The weight is 24kg and the kayak comes with a durable duffel bag with removable backpack straps.
At 24kg, the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite Kayak is one of our heavier kayaks.
You would have to be quite strong to carry it down to the water by yourself when inflated.
But most people can manage if there are two people to carry it – one at each end.
If you want to make it easier to transport, I would suggest getting the Kayak Cart – this allows you to wheel the kayak to the water and then you can easily stow the cart on the deck.
The AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak is very stable.
There is a fin – it is part of the hull.
If you'd like to use a propeller, a glue on fin box, performed by a qualified boat repair person, is your best option.
But my strong recommendation is that you take a look at the setup video (note: this is a Convertible Kayak not the Convertible Elite, so it will take some more time since you’d have to inflate the Drop-Stitch Floor):
It should take you around 8 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.
It’s about 8 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.
You just take off the valve covers and set the valves to deflate. Walk away for a few minutes and it’s done.
You can use the deflate function of the pump if you want to, but I have never found this to be necessary.
The best thing you can do is put an old towel inside the kayak when you go paddling. This keeps the inside dry and clean.
You will almost certainly get some water on the deck and sides, but if you can keep the inside clean and dry, that makes things easier.
If it’s salt water on the outside, you may wish to use a wash cloth with clean water to pat the deck of the kayak.
Do NOT use a hose, the kayak gets way too wet that way.
The deck doesn’t take too long to dry, then you can fold the kayak up as per the instructions.
You can also purchase a paddle leash so you don’t lose your paddle!
We also recommend a dry-bag for keeping your gear dry.
Check out our Fishing Gear section if you want to do some kayak fishing.
Any double bladed kayak paddle will work, but I would strongly suggest getting a LONG one, so you can easily get over the side tubes. Ours start at 230cm.
Pretty well any pump on the market capable of 2 PSI will work, but I would strongly suggest you use our Double Action Hand Pump with Gauge because it has all the right adapters and comes with a 90-day warranty.
Yes!
We offer a package deal with a $49 discount, just underneath the Add to Cart button.
Advanced Elements come with a 3-year warranty on all kayaks and 90-days on all accessories. You can find details of this warranty here.
But if you have any issues after that period, still get in touch as we carry some spare parts and may be able to help out.

Above expectations
These kayaks are simple to set up, sturdy, track straight and very easy to paddle along. I could not be happier with our choice and the great advice given prior to our purchase. I would highly recommend the kayak and the whole purchase experience.

Advancedframe Expedition Elite Kayak
The Advancedframe Expedition Elite Kayak is extremely well thought out and put together. Every aspect seems to have been catered for. My first experience on the water in the Expedition Elite was very memoriable and 6 hours of paddling seemed to pass in the blink of an eye... If storage and transport is a problem for you I would highly recommend the Advanceframe Expedition Elite Kayak and would highly recommend purchasing from oz inflatable kayaks as Emily was wonderful to deal with and was very knowledgeable and answered every question I threw at her and the service was second to none.

Super slick design and a pleasure to use
This kayak is an excellent design and makes kayaking very accessible for a newbie like me; it's beautiful to use on the water - super stable and comfortable to paddle - and easy to inflate once you know the process. It opens up a whole new range of activities for my camping holidays with kids and friends and can be packed into a boot or trailer as a foldable inflatable product... I could also easily fit my 13 yo and 10 yo into the kayak with me and enjoy it as a family...
