Angela's Story

A lot of women can understand Angela’s story. Kayaking for women feels like it is out of reach. You either need to hire a kayak, or you are dependent on someone else to help you because they are so heavy.

Angela was initially wary about being on the water but kayaking fast became a corner stone of her independance and a critical part of her breast cancer recovery journey.

Expedition Tough

Geoff and Kit Wilson from 5th Element Expeditions returned from an Alaskan trip where inflatable kayaks were needed for portability into the remote locations, but they also needed expedition kayaks.

Being dragged across Tundra, hitting submerged rocks, being man-handled by airport luggage handlers – the AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite kayaks survived it all!

It would be an understatement to say that Geoff was impressed with how well the AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite kayaks held up on their adventure!

Had a bit of a problem with it turning one way at first but sorted it out during pump up later.
Takes a bit to get it all dried out though otherwise its excellent especially as I live in a unit and have limited space.

Spent a lot of time researching and and speaking with both Lee and Emily. They were incredibly knowledgeable about their products and were really considered in their advice about most appropriate gear for my use and size. I felt like they were genuine and honest.

Perfect

Got what I ordered fantastic shipping speed. Happy as will use again for other stuff

A fabulous shopping experience with Oz Inflatable Kayaks. The website is amazing with very detailed information, comparisons, videos and reviews, even down to the accessories. It really helps to get the advice from Emily on how and why a product can and should be used. These were instrumental in my decision making when purchasing. Service from the team was very responsive and again, very detailed. I would definitely recommend Oz Inflatable Kayaks.

So easy to wear!

Haven't needed to rely on it yet, and hope I never do, but this is soooo much better than the other sort of lifejacket. I barely know I have it on and it doesn't impede arm movement

Short life of motor and not repairable

These motors are great at moving an inflatable kayak and battery life is good. However once they are out of warranty there no support for servicing or repairs and the motors become a throw away item. I have had mine for 2.5 years, the bearing in the motor needs replacing which causes the motor to cut out. I've contacted the manufacturer and importer , neither were willing to offer any or of warranty support for the motor.

Get the ducks in a row.

Hi all..We have found the Edge 2 to be the right fit for us, as we plan to travel with a caravan to different location coastly and lakes, didn't wont to have to have a kayak a roof rack, it packs away to a large suitcase size that can be store in the ute. The set-up and pact away is very easy. The double stitch floor gives you a very sturdy base , and its very stable. We are extremely happy with our kayak. "Hoi Polloi 4 "As you can see we purchased the Double Strait Edge 2. Now some my say a tandem kayak is a recipe for divorce, that maybe the case for some, not for us ( so far). Once you understand each others roll in the vessel its smooth sailing. I recommend you seek some online research on kayaks. We have been married for 40 years so we are ok.We love to peace an tranquillity you find out on the water.

Excellent

Inflating/deflating was way easier than I expected . Loved the weight and feel of the paddle as the kayak glided beautifully through the water!!

Cute and easy, but not for me.

I was so wanting this kayak to be the answer for me as it is so light and easy to set up. I first used it on my own on a sheltered lake. This worked fine, as I could poke around at my leisure taking photos and watching the water birds. Next I went out on a river with a friend who was in an Advanced Frame Sport. Immediately it became obvious that there was no way I could keep up with her and I was working twice as hard just to go in a straight line, let alone achieve a decent speed.I have now opted to use the Advanced Frame Sport as my main kayak. If you are going alone in a sheltered place and speed is of no importance, the Lagoon 1 is a great little kayak. It's super easy to set up and put away and only weighs 10kg. If you want speed and tracking ability, go for the Sport or another of the more streamlined, speedy kayaks offered by Oz Inflatable Kayaks. Before choosing a kayak, talk with Emily about your needs (email is best) or use the online tool on the website to compare the different kayaks available. They are very helpful at Oz Inflatable Kayaks and go the extra mile.

Yak pfd

Excellent. Really comfy and plenty of room for paddling

Axis 230 paddle

I bought this paddle because of its lightweight feature and it is noticeable. However it is less sturdy than the Moray paddle I previously purchased and has play in the joints as described in another review here. Mixed feelings on this one for the extra money.

Great pump!

This pump is awesome as it pumps air in even as you pull the handle up. It does take a bit of an effort to pump up the drp stitch floor but still fairly easily doable

Yak High back Vest

I'm really loving the Safety vest, it is very comfortable with my Advanced frame kayak

Good but not great

I've found this paddle to be lightweight, goes together easily and packs into my AE Sport bag along with kayak effortlessly. The ability to have the paddle packed in with the kayak is brilliant. When paddling, the paddle feels strong enough and handles quite well. While it assembles very easily, there is still a little bit of 'play' in the joints - I've lessened this with a bit of tape but to do a proper job, I'll probably need a thin coat of epoxy on the joint and sand that down to get a really nice fit - I feel for the money, this should already be the case. The other omission is that there's no raised ridge under the right knuckles to orientate the paddle without looking - again, a pretty easy fix with some tape and a bit of appropriate size cord but I feel this should already be on the paddle from the start.

First kayak

Outstanding kayak that has proven itself time and again with transportability, ease of setup and packing and the ability to not be limited to an environment. Used for both calm lake paddles (Canberra, Tuross River) and in open water (Jervis Bay). 4 small people (with lifejackets) able to launch and paddle to their hearts content. Photo is from Huskisson.
