Shipping policy

Shipping Cost

For orders $169 and over, shipping is free, Australia wide.

For orders under $169, shipping is charged at a flat rate of $9.

Rates/times match those in Google Shopping, Meta ads, and our checkout.

Handling and Transit Times

Orders are usually picked and packed within 1-3 working days of placing your order.

In exceptionally busy times, like Sale periods, the handling time can be as long as 10 working days.

If you have a deadline you are working towards, such as a trip, please let us know about it so we can do everything within our power to get your order to you on time.

We use a 3PL warehouse in western Brisbane to store our stock and fulfil your orders. They have accounts with various freight providers that we have access to.

For orders of small, single items, we usually use Australia Post.

For orders of large items or multiple items, we usually use Direct Freight Express (DFE).

Transit times vary depending on the carrier and the location we are shipping to.

Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast and Sunshine coast orders that ship with DFE are often delivered within 2 days of ordering, for example, but orders that are shipping a long way away (eg Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia) or remote areas will take longer, sometimes up to 10 working days in peak periods.

All delivery times are estimates; we aim to meet them but cannot guarantee due to carrier factors.

Authority to Leave vs Signature on Delivery

All orders that include a kayak will require a signature on delivery, unless you give authority to leave (ATL).

You can give authority to leave (ATL) in the order notes of the shopping cart when placing your order online. An example of this might be "ATL front door".

You can also give ATL directly to Australia Post or DFE once your order has shipped.

Note that when you give ATL, it is at your risk - if somebody steals the item after it has been delivered, neither our transit insurance or any insurance that the courier has will cover the cost of replacing the stolen items.

If you do NOT give ATL and you are not home to sign for delivery, additional fees for re-delivery may apply (see Missed Delivery below).

Orders that do NOT include a kayak are treated differently:

If the order is shipped with DFE, they allow their driver to determine whether it is safe to leave the item. If you are uncomfortable with this, please specify SIGNATURE REQUIRED in the Order Notes section of the Cart page before you place your order.

Orders shipped with Australia Post will require a signature on delivery, unless you give ATL to Australia Post directly.

Missed Delivery

If ATL has not been given, somebody needs to be at the delivery address to sign for delivery.

Both DFE and Australia Post will communicate with you directly regarding the status of your order, so you should have plenty of notice as to when it is coming.

For DFE, they do not specify the time of day for delivery and they will not be able to call you before arriving.

If you are not home when DFE attempts delivery, they will try again the next day. If, after 2-3 attempts you are still not home, we will get in touch with you to find a solution.

***NOTE that in this case, re-delivery fees will apply - usually around $20-40.

For orders shipped with Australia Post, if you are not at home and you have not given ATL, the item will be taken to the nearest post office for you to pick up. Australia Post will tell you where the item is via their app or via SMS or via email.

Redirection

If you need to change the delivery address after your order has shipped, there will be a fee of $19 and it will take 1-3 business days for the change to happen.

Please contact the freight provider directly and quote your consignment number to arrange this.

Pick Up from Warehouse

We use a 3PL warehouse in western Brisbane to store our stock and fulfil your orders.

Unfortunately, they do NOT allow customer pick-ups because of the safety requirements at their location.

If you are travelling and need an alternative to getting the kayak delivered, please get in touch and we will figure something out.

Lost or Damaged in Transit

Every now and then, an order may be lost or partially lost in transit. We have domestic transit insurance that covers this scenario and can therefore usually issue a replacement of the lost item(s) within a week or so (we have to wait a week to make sure it's really lost, not just delayed). If we are out of stock of that item, we will get in touch to work out a solution for you.

If you receive an item and the box or packaging is visibly damaged, please take photos of this before opening your item. If the item inside is okay, we would still appreciate the photos being emailed to info@ozinflatablekayaks.com.au so we can give feedback to our warehouse and courier. If the item inside is damaged, please email photos (or videos) of the damage to info@ozinflatablekayaks.com.au within 3 working days of receiving the item. We have domestic transit insurance that covers this scenario and can therefore usually issue a replacement of the damaged item within a few days of receiving the evidence.

Shipping to New Zealand

There are some items we are able to ship to New Zealand. Essentially, they are items that are safe for air freight (no glue, batteries or compressed air canisters).

Air freight is, however, very expensive. Kayaks cost from around $200 to $600 to ship to New Zealand. Although we do not have to charge you Australian GST, you will be charged with New Zealand GST and Customs Duty upon arrival, so it can get very expensive.

If you desperately need something shipped to New Zealand, please get in touch for a quote.

Location Restrictions

Please be aware that in some rare cases, we may be unable to deliver to specific locations. This has never actually happened, but Australia is so vast, it's possible that there are some places we simply can't deliver. In this case, we will get in touch with you to give you the option of changing the delivery address or processing a refund.
