The Kokopelli Platte Plus Inflatable kayak is very quick and simple to set up.
I recommend purchasing an electric pump – the Nano pump that is included is good quality but has a very small barrell and therefore takes a while to inflate.

Performance
It’s not a rocket, but it’s satisfying to paddle.
The high-pressure drop-stitch floor (included) gives you excellent rigidity, so you glide through the water gracefully.
It’s quite narrow for a sit-on-top inflatable kayak, so the tracking is good.
The high-pressure drop-stitch floor plays a big part in this. The enhanced rigidity helps the kayak glide through the water smoothly.
And the dual fin system improves the tracking substantially.
The wind affect is moderate on the Platte Plus.
The waterline is not as long as the StraitEdge2 Pro kayak but the side tubes are not huge, and the dual fin system keeps it on track pretty well.
Comfort
The seats (included) have very supportive straps.
The diamond design keeps you cool and the thick straps support your back.
The optional foot braces (included) add to your comfort by supporting your lower back as you paddle.
Note that the internal width is only 43cm, so if you have a wide bum, it may be squeezed uncomfortably.

The Kokopelli Platte Plus kayak is not huge inside, but it has an open sit-on-top style, so there might be enough space for all of you, depending on the size of the dog (and the adults).
The drop-stitch floor inside the kayak is super tough, you do not need any reinforcement.
The wide flat hull means the kayak is very stable so you won’t all go over board if your dog gets excited and makes a sudden move (not that they ever do that …).

In my experience, seniors are looking for a lightweight kayak, and at 14.1kg, the Kokopelli Platte Plus Kayak is fairly lightweight.
We have other kayaks that are lighter, but the Kokopelli Platte does give a great balance of versatility and performance. So if you think you can handle the weight, it’s a great choice for seniors.

The maximum capacity is 195kgs according to the manufacturer.
We haven’t yet tested this kayak on the higher weight ranges, but I don’t think it will be a practical option for large paddlers because it is simply too narrow inside (only 40cm from hip to hip when sitting).

How to use the Kokopelli Platte Kayak

But my strong recommendation is that you take a look at the setup video (solo version shown):
It should take you around 9 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.

You just take off the valve covers and set the valves to deflate. Then just walk away for a few minutes and it’s done.
You can use the deflate function of the pump if you want to, but I have never found this to be necessary.
The pack away takes about 9 minutes.
Pull out the seats, the foot braces and the drop-stitch floor.
Use a towel to wipe down the kayak.
Fold the kayak up and put everything in the mesh bag.
