It’s been a long time since I last went for a paddle (had a baby recently), so I was very excited to go kayaking on Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff last week.
Took my dad – he’s doing pretty well for a 73 year old. Doesn’t look a day over 71!
I got mum and dad 2 AdvancedFrame Sport inflatable kayaks last year – it’s a great way for them to stay active, even with their knees, feet and backs starting to give them grief.
Look at him go!

The AdvancedFrame Sport inflatable kayak is an excellent kayak for seniors because it is:
- lightweight
- quick and easy to set up
- stable on the water
- very supportive and comfortable
Funnily enough, they are the same reasons I love it, even though I am not a senior. And of course because it is a delight to paddle 🙂
If you are interested in kayaking on Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff, you can launch at the boat ramp (near the corner of Marine Parade and Moss St). Or any of the sandy spots along the creek would be fine.
Kingscliff is in northern NSW only a few kilometres from the QLD border. The surf club has awesome views and does a mean chicken parma.
We kayaked from the boat ramp near the mouth down to the big birds nest and back.
Kayaking on Cudgen Creek at Kingsliff was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely recommend it. The water was clear, the fish were jumping, and there was a contrast between the natural environment and city apartments on the boardwalk.
The AdvancedFrame Sport inflatable kayak is my favourite and is an ideal kayak for seniors, but it might not be the best kayak for you.
It’s a lot of money down the drain if you get the wrong model, so it’s worth asking for my advice!

About Oz Inflatable Kayaks
Hi, my name is Emily and over a decade ago I thought to myself “gee, I would really love to go kayaking … if only I had a big strong butler to help me get a kayak on and off roof racks. Oh, and several thousand dollars for the kayak and the roof racks (not to mention the cost of the butler)”.
To find a way to go paddling without a heavy hard-shell kayak, I started looking into inflatable kayaks. But I did NOT want a pool toy.
The Advanced Elements range of inflatable kayaks really blew me away (excuse the terrible pun).
I realised that the quality was not just about durability, it also meant that the kayaks were comfortable and easy to paddle straight and fast.
It just so happens that I was also looking for a business opportunity at the same time…
Nowadays I specialise (and delight) in selling Advanced Elements inflatables to all kinds of people in Australia.
I know the range so well that I do personalised recommendation videos to help people choose the right kayak.
It’s a no-obligation service that I enjoy doing AND it helps me in the long run because my customers that get a recommendation get the right kayak, first time. They are HAPPY customers!
So if you are even vaguely thinking about kayaking, get in touch or get your FREE personalised kayak recommendation now.
