“I was so wanting this kayak to be the answer for me as it is so light and easy to set up. I first used it on my own on a sheltered lake. This worked fine, as I could poke around at my leisure taking photos and watching the water birds. If you are going alone in a sheltered place and speed is of no importance, the Lagoon 1 is a great little kayak. It’s super easy to set up and put away and only weighs 10kg.“
– Teresa

Lightweight
At only 10kg, the Lagoon 1 is extremely easy to carry down to the water.
Compact
At only 13cm deep when folded, it’s very compact – great for travellers.

Versatile
The inflatable coaming around the cockpit allows you to attach a spray skirt so you can stay warm and dry when you are paddling.
The Lagoon1 kayak is suitable for open ocean.
Stable and Secure
The Lagoon1 kayak is very stable, and you are surrounded by an inner tube, so you feel very secure.
This makes it great for beginners, taking tiny dogs and kids, and fishing.
It also means you can relax whilst you are paddling!

Quick Set-up
The Lagoon1 Kayak is easy and quick to set up. It takes about 5 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.
Lagoon1 Kayak FAQs
Performance
The Lagoon1 is only 10kg, so it is quite nimble and responsive.
It’s not as fast as our other, longer kayaks, but it moves with little effort.
Not much.
All kayaks are wind affected to some degree.
You can generally predict how wind affected it’s going to be based on the ratio of kayak above the waterline to kayak below the waterline.
The Lagoon1 kayak is small and sits quite low in the water, especially compare to other inflatables, so it performs quite well in wind.
Comfort
The seat (included) has a high back, and it is positioned against the inner tube at the back for support.
The bum pad of the seat is inflatable. This is great because not only is it a cushion for your bum, but it means you sit higher than your heels, which takes some pressure off your back.
The optional inflatable foot brace adds to your comfort by supporting your lower back as you paddle.
You can purchase the inflatable foot brace to go with your Lagoon Kayak. A lot of paddlers swear by foot braces for encouraging good paddling technique and for supporting the lower back.
The Lagoon1 kayak has a seat that rests against the inner tube at the back of the cockpit.
What is the Lagoon1 Kayak good for?
Yes, if they are not massive.
The Lagoon1 kayak is not huge inside and you can NOT unzip the cockpit.
All the materials are durable enough for dogs.
The Lagoon1 kayak is certainly stable enough for dogs.
Yes, as long as you have enough space for your gear.
The wide flat hull means the kayak is very stable so you can focus on fishing and relaxing.
The rip-stop polyester material is extremely durable, give you the confidence that neither fish nor fishing gear will cause a puncture.
Optional kayak anchor if the fish are biting and you want to stay where you are.
You can even put on a propeller – the ePropulsion Vaquita.
It’s possible, they just might not fit!
The Lagoon1 is very stable, it’s just that it’s got a fixed cockpit. If your child is still small, you can certainly give it a go.
It’s possible, yes.
One advantage is that the Lagoon1 packs up so small, so it won’t take up too much space.
It just might be a little difficult to get in and out of, because it has a fixed cockpit and a soft floor.
It’s suitable for almost all water types, including open ocean.
Although it’s our smallest kayak, there is still some deck space and capacity (113kg) for gear if you are using it to transport your stuff to and from shore.
**Caution – do not leave the kayak inflated on the deck of the boat. The heat will cause the pressure to rise and you could damage the kayak.
I would recommend up to a maximum of a half-day.
Of course, you can do what you like in it, but if you are going to be doing longer trips, I would suggest looking at our kayaks that go faster, offer better back support and more deck space for gear.
If you have to pack a huge amount of stuff, I suggest looking at our AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite, which has a higher capacity and more storage space.
But if it’s not a massive amount of gear and you are not a huge person, you could consider the Lagoon1 kayak.
It’s a little short for sea kayaking, but if you really wanted to do it, you could.
The Lagoon1 kayak allows you to put on a spray skirt to keep out the spray.
The inner tube has 2 main chambers for safety.
Not really.
The Lagoon1 kayak is fine for class 1 and 2 whitewater, so mild rivers are okay, but it’s not designed for full whitewater.
Who is the Lagoon1 Kayak good for?
Absolutely.
The key feature for beginners is stability and the Lagoon1 kayak is wonderfully stable, so no dramas there.
It’s fairly easy to paddle, but it does waggle as you stroke.
At 10kgs it’s extremely lightweight.
It’s quite versatile, so if you find yourself going from beginner to adventurer, you can do open ocean in it.
In my experience, seniors are looking for a lightweight kayak, and at 10kg, the Lagoon1 kayak is wonderfully lightweight.
The other key features for seniors are stability and ease of getting in and out.
The Lagoon1 is very stable, but the fixed cockpit might make it tricky for long-legged people to get in and out.
Yes, at only 10kg, the Lagoon1 is ideal for a child learning to paddle independently.
Not as much as our other kayaks.
It is stable, which makes things a lot easier, but the cockpit is fixed, so if you have long legs, you need to be able to tuck them in.
No.
It’s good up to about 6 foot, but beyond that, you want to consider the AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite kayak.
When I say “about 6 foot”, it’s hard to be precise. Whether you fit in the kayak is more a function of leg length, rather than overall height. It also depends on how you like to sit in the kayak – legs straight requires more space than legs bent.
About the Lagoon1 Kayak
Advanced Elements have been making inflatable kayaks for well over 20 years – you don’t have to worry about quality.
All kayaks are inflated at the factory and left for 24 hours to ensure there are no slow leaks.
The main hull material used is called PVC tarpaulin and it is super thick and tough.
In the extremely rare case that you damage the hull, the kayak comes with a repair kit, so you can put on a patch.
The Lagoon1 Kayak is a sit-in kayak.
You can put on a spray skirt and stay warm and dry if the condition are rough or cold.
The Lagoon1 kayak is a solo kayak – this means it has seating for only 1 person.
Taking a small child or a small dog with you might be viable, depending on how big you are and they are.
It’s very stable… you will feel very safe in the Lagoon1 kayak.
There is a fin – it is part of the hull.
There is no rudder on the Lagoon1 kayak.
The Rudder Kit we sell is NOT compatible with the Lagoon1 kayak.
Yes, the ePropulsion Vaquita can be used with the ratchet straps (included with the propeller).
Yes.
The Lagoon1 kayak is a sit-in style kayak, so you can hook our Touring Spray Skirt around the inflatable coaming.
This allows you to stay warm and dry inside the cockpit.

• Bungee deck lacing
• Inflatable coaming for spray skirt attachment
• Paddle holder
• Mesh pocket
• Advanced Elements Spring Valve
• Folding seat
• Tracking fin
• Durable fabric cover
• Electronically welded seams
• Rigid bow and stern

The Lagoon1 Kayak is manufacted by Advanced Elements (an American company), in their factory in Indonesia.
All kayaks are inflated and left overnight on the factory floor to ensure they are fully functional before shipping out.
How to use the Lagoon1 Kayak
You can review the instruction manual here:

But my strong recommendation is that you take a look at the setup video:
It should take you around 5 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.
It’s about 5 minutes, once you have got the hang of it.
You just take off the valve covers and set the valves to deflate. Walk away for a few minutes and it’s done.
You can use the deflate function of the pump if you want to, but I have never found this to be necessary.
This video is for the AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite kayak, but the process is similar for the Lagoon1 Kayak.
The best thing you can do is put an old towel inside the kayak when you go paddling. This keeps the inside dry and clean.
You will almost certainly get some water on the deck and sides, but if you can keep the inside clean and dry, that makes things easier.
If it’s salt water on the outside, you may wish to use a wash cloth with clean water to pat the deck of the kayak.
Do NOT use a hose, the kayak gets way too wet that way.
The deck doesn’t take too long to dry, then you can fold the kayak up as per the instructions.
Yes, it DOES go back in the bag!
What to buy
• Carrying Duffel Bag
• Folding Seat
• Repair Kit
• Owner’s Manual
• Double Action Hand Pump
You need to purchase a paddle and a life jacket as the minimum.
We also recommend a dry-bag for keeping your gear dry.
Check out our offer for a package deal with a $49 discount, just underneath the Add to Cart button.
Any double bladed kayak paddle will work, but I would strongly suggest getting a LONG one, so you can easily get over the side tubes. Ours start at 230cm.
Check out our range of collapsible kayak paddles.
Pretty well any pump on the market capable of 2 PSI will work, but I would strongly suggest you use our Double Action Hand Pump with Gauge because it has all the right adapters and comes with a 90-day warranty.
