Here is why the AdvancedFrame Kayak is our best selling solo inflatable kayak:

Basically, it ticks a whole lot of boxes for a whole lot of people.

It’s great for beginners, AND for multi-day expeditions across open ocean.

What makes it so good?

  • Easy to paddle straight and fast
  • Comfortable
  • Quick to set up and pack away
  • Stable
  • Durable
  • Versatile
  • Compact and lightweight

Who is the AdvancedFrame kayak for?

That’s the amazing thing about this inflatable kayak, it’s good for both beginners and experienced kayakers.

Put on a spray skirt and load it up with gear (up to 136kg) for a paddling expedition.

Or take it out for a short, relaxing paddle.

Goes Straight and Fast – Even for Beginners

There’s nothing more annoying than a kayak that goes in circles… except maybe a kayak that doesn’t go anywhere!
  • Glide straight and cuts through chop with the patented AdvancedFrame design – no waggling when you paddle.
  • Built in fin to help you paddle straight.
  • Low centre of gravity and a flat hull make the AdvancedFrame kayak very stable.  Save your strength and relax!

TESTIMONIAL

"…I settled into it immediately, and in no time was stroking confidently and making great pace going up river against the current. I was also very pleased with the kayaks tracking ability…"

Comfortable for Hours

There’s nothing worse than a hard seat giving you a numb bum and an aching lower back from lack of support.

Whether you are jumping in the AdvancedFrame kayak for half an hour, or going out on a multi-day expedition, you want to be comfortable and supported. Fortunately, Advanced Elements have done a wonderful job of making the AdvancedFrame kayak a delight to sit in!

  • Your back is supported by the clip-in seat so you are comfortable all day
  • Your bum is cushioned by the low pressure inflatable floor reducing the risk of numbness
  • Optional foot pegs or foot brace to assist paddling technique

"Hi Emily, Have taken my kayak out 3 times in the last 2 weekends now… it’s quite addictive… I could stay out ALL day if the weather permitted"
Kathy

Durable and Reliable

Let’s be clear – the AdvancedFrame kayak is NOT a pool toy!

Advanced Elements have crafted a puncture-resistant inflatable kayak that won’t let you down.

I have been paddling the AdvancedFrame range for over a decade now, and I have never had to do a repair.

  • Multi-layer material design for protection of the inner tubes – there is very little risk of puncture
  • Durable triple layer PVC tarpaulin hull so you don’t have to worry about damage on rocks
  • Dual main air chambers for safety – if one chamber of the inner tube is compromised, the other will still function
  • 1 year manufacturer’s warranty from Advanced Elements

Convenient – Quick and Easy to Set Up & Pack Away – Perfect for Travel

Set up and pack away seems to be the thing most people don’t consider when they are comparing inflatable kayaks.

But it is SO important!

If your inflatable kayak is a drag to inflate, you will end up just leaving it in the bag. What a waste…

The AdvancedFrame kayak comes pre-assembled from the Advanced Elements factory. This means there is no complicated set up, you just unfold, inflate, clip the seat in and go. Takes about 5 minutes from bag to water.

How to set up the AdvancedFrame Kayak

Packs up into a bag about the size of a suitcase for easy storage and transport – planes, trains and automobiles, the world is your oyster!

What type of conditions is the AdvancedFrame kayak suitable for?

The AdvancedFrame is designed to be a day touring type boat, for flat or open water. The bow and stern have a rigid semi-frame that gives it a hard edge. This greatly improves the tracking over traditional inflatables. The AdvancedFrame is fine for class 1 and 2 rivers, and durable enough for class 3, however it is really designed to paddle in a straight line, and therefore not recommended for rivers above class 3. When choosing a kayak for class 3 whitewater or greater, you really want a boat with a very rounded hull that will not grip on to the current, especially in eddys, like our Attack Whitewater Kayak. Unfortunately kayaks with very rounded hulls will not paddle very straight on flat water.

What's the difference?

The AdvancedFrame and the AdvancedFrame Sport inflatable kayaks are the same length width and look like the same design… so why did Advanced Elements create two of them??

Advanced Frame Kayaks x 2

We have used our two kayaks four times in three weeks. Our previous hard shell kayaks only once in 18 months. So easy to transport and use by comparison, and we can even transport them in our little buzz box Hyundai I20. With a little practice we can even get them back in the bag!! Highly recommend them

A real Surprise

I received my inflatable AdvanceFrame Kayak as a birthday surprise and what a surprise it was. After some practice inflates in the loungeroom to get the hang of setting it up and pulling it down and packing it back up, I realised how easy it actually was. The instructions said '5 mins to inflate' well that was pretty accurate. And about the same to deflate and pack back into its carry bag. Time to get out on the water. Again, I had no trouble setting it up using the Duel Action hand pump with pressure the gauge. Getting into it was a bit of a struggle as you really need to straddle it and squat down into it. I'm not a young man any more and I found that I was using joints in ways I haven't used in a long time!! Anyway, this, I found was the easiest way and really the only way to get in and out of an inflatable Kayak and get going. My wife and I have Kayaked in the past but in traditional hard bodied Kayaks but once on the water I found that it was very easy to control and manouver.

All round great kayak

I found the Advanced Frame kayak easy to set up, taking about 10 minutes to inflate and light in the water. I bought the adjustable seat which is super comfy and can fit the longest of legs inside the. I would highly recommend this quality kayak to anyone from beginner (like me) to the expert kayaker looking for a light, portable, quality craft

Wonderful service, wonderful product

Emily is fantastic support with my decision and after sales service. I have taken the kayak out several times in flat and rough conditions. It handles well with direction and speed. It is comfortable with the inflatable mat and seat although it took me a bit to adjust the seat to fit.

Efficient, sturdy, stable and comfortable!

Everything promised, this kayak delivered in spades. Efficient - easy to paddle for long periods of time, cuts through calm and choppy water with ease. Sturdy - surprised how strong the materials are and how well it has been put together. Stable - the inflated cells sitting with side of my thighs make this kayak the most stable i have ever paddled (sure it's wider and I lose straight line speed - but Im not going out in it for racing) Comfortable - I'm sitting on an inflatable floor between inflatable bouyancy chambers, all flouting on water - think abut it, nothing could be more comfortable. The seat back with infinite support adjustment gives me so many seating options. Not having to lift a kayak up onto rook racks any more (with sore and worn our shoulders) has allowed me to easily get onto the water again. I can't fault my purchase in any way.

AdvancedFrame Kayak

As an older, not so strong female the kayak is a bit heavier and more awkward to carry than I expected but easy to pump up with foot pump. On the water it is easy to paddle and very stable and comfortable. It tracks straight and turns easily. I like to re-inflate it in the garden to clean and dry but it folds up well. I am delighted with this kayak and am looking forward to many adventures.

Quick to inflate and great fun

Overall experience - terrific! Easy to inflate and took <10 minutes on our second attempt, a bit longer on the first as we were reading the instruction manual. The Kayak travelled true even in fairly strong wind and simple to deflate. We throw them in the back of the car and wash them down when we get home (all our adventures have been in salt water). We dry them in our courtyard semi inflated and have had no reason to pack them back in the bag.

kayaking easy

10 mins to set up, 10 minutes to get back into the car. Kayak is very stable, under normal condition on flat water you get no water inside. Use it now 3x week.

being picky!

love the Advanced frame Kayak. easy to assemble, not too heavy for me to be able to transport it about. paddles really well even in choppy water... but.. two minor things the makers could remedy. 1. the velcro to hold the paddle is too close to the paddlers arm at the stern of the kayak.. the velcro scratches my arm whilst paddling. it could easily be relocated further to the stern of the boat, away from the movement of the paddling arm. 2. when i paddle, the water flicks off the paddle onto the bow of the boat (plus any wavelets that come over the edge).. this water then flows to the lowest point which is the zip end closest to the paddler. there it falls onto the floor of the kayak and inevitably the floor is very wet along with the paddlers legs and bum. the cover over the bow end of the boat needs some support to hold the zip higher thus preventing the water flowing into the vessel. these changes would make the kayak perfect!! thanks sally

Great kayak

Very easy to set up paddles remarkably straight and no lifting onto the car roof. I will be taking it away on our next caravan trip, so easy. I am very happy with my kayak and the help I received from Emily.

Waterbed of kayaks!

Early days, as we have only just had our first opportunity to take our new kayak out for a paddle. A weekend at Hilton Denarau with a garden view (and nice view of the beach) was our chance. We inflated can carried our kayak down to the beach, approximately 50m with little effort, and slipped it into the water. My first paddle and it felt so much more enjoyable than hard plastic kayaks usually available at resorts. I was totally sold. The test though would be my partner. She loved it too, felt totally safe and as a smaller person had no issues handling and maneuvering. It was actually a surprise to see her so far in the distance as usually she would not be so adventurous. We will now be purchasing at least one more for my partner, and possibly more for when friends stay. I wish Advanced Elements kayaks had been around when growing up, life would have been filled with so much more adventure. Thank you Emily!

Great Fun with the Advanced Frame Kayaks!

I recently bought two of the Advanced Frame Kayaks and my wife and I have been out on them almost every weekend! These kayaks exceeded my expectations and we have had a terrific time in both enclosed waters and in the ocean. They have taken us to waterways in Sydney that I would never have thought to visit. The kayaks themselves are easy to setup and takes me about 20 minutes to get both of them into the water. The service and support from Emily has been excellent and I would definitely buy from OzInflatable Kayaks again. -David

A Realistic Alternative

Having now had a few months and several outings with the kayaks, once you’re out on the water, I don’t believe that there’s a lot of difference in speed or tracking ability between the AF models and more conventional plastic sit-in recreational kayaks, particularly once you install the backbone, which I highly recommend. Performance is OK enough without it, but I’ve found that installing the backbone improved performance quite significantly. Where the AdvanceFrame models really DO have it all over hard kayaks, is comfort. Since you’re sitting on an inflated floor and well supported by the high seat-back and your feet are braced against the foot bar (Expedition) or inflatable foot brace (AdvFrame), I’ve found I can paddle for much longer, without getting a sore or numb backside or without my feet “going to sleep” from being pressed against hard pedals. A great alternative for solo paddlers/travellers without a second person to assist getting a kayak on/off car roof racks or without the space to store a conventional kayak - both of which apply in my case. I hope that all helps.

Advancedframe inflatable kayak

I researched long and hard before buying this kayak - and all the positive reviews and comments have been well and truly proven by my experience. Easy and surprisingly quick to set up, wonderfully comfortable and stable on the water, and even quicker to pack away after the paddle - this is truly an excellent inflatable 'yak. Dealing with Emily was a joy, too. Her knowledge and her warm personality made the whole process easy and enjoyable. She has answered my post-purchase questions quickly and clearly, and I'm very happy to recommend her business to potential customers.

a photo at last

Hi Emily, At last i have a photo for you of me paddling in Cockatoo Lake near Lucindale SA last April. We were at thersa creek dam about 3 months ago and the kayaking was brilliant. Also, have just been up to venus bay for last week kayaking. The kayak handles well in 1 half foot waves and i also tried a bit of surfing (near the shore) as we have the sharks around here a bit. Here is bertie bear i told u about. I made him his life jacket as he's not too good a swimmer... he comes out with me if its not too rough and we certainly get attention!!!!!!! Could u tell me after i have been in the sea do i have to give it a fresh water wash? Have had a couple of people interested in the kayak so i give them the information to read. Cheers, Tricia

How is your AdvancedFrame Inflatable Kayak going?

Hi Emily, Have taken my kayak out 3 times in the last 2 weekends now... it's quiteaddictive... I could stay out ALL day if the weather permitted. It has been quite overcast and a little windy this weekend and today we got a little rained on at the nearby lake but it was still very relaxing. I really love this kayak and cant wait to get out paddling again. As promised I have attached some photos of the black matting from Clark Rubber, on the front of the kayak to stop drips getting in through the zipper and cockpit and it is very efficient. However, I will probably end up getting a skirt from you if I decide to go kayaking in the winter months to keep more water out and warmth in. I love my little kayak and have given hubby a few goes to see if he'd like one but he is still undecided whether to go hardshell or not. I'll keep you posted. Take care. CheersKathy

Launch Day

Hello Emily, The Kayak did not disappoint. Initially I was impressed with the stability of the craft. I settled into it immediately, and in no time was stroking confidently and making great pace going up river against the current. I was also very pleased with the kayaks tracking ability, and yes the comfortable seating position was an added bonus I did not expect. The kayak has to be my best buy of the decade, and thanks for your part in all of this, especially with your help and advice in helping me to choose the Advanced Frame. Cheers, Jeff

Advanced Frame Kayak Review

Emily: It was fantastic experience for using the Advanced Element kayak. After a few padding trips in the Bobbin Heads I know how to handle the kayak. Every time I dropped my kayak into Cowan Creek in Bobbin Head , a lot of people ask me about the inflatable kayak, How good it is? Where to buy it? Of course I told them to order from OZ inflatable kayak web site and the kayak is a very good one and perform very well in water. The family having fun with fishing on the shore asked me about the kayak. A guy with a hard body kayak stopped me in the middle of the river and asked me a lot of question about the kayak and touched it and asked me to give him a try. A group of bush walking team from the shore asked me to stopped and asked me about the kayak and took a photo of my kayak. The kayak is a very good product and I enjoy very much with it every weekend with my wife and my son, We have 3 inflatable kayaks , the other 2 are the Stearns one. They are also very good as well, but slower than Advanced Elements. Regards, Donald
