We had a STUNNING weekend of paddling at Yamba. Wow.
I recently got myself an AirFusion Elite inflatable kayak, which is my new love … sorry Jacob!
It cuts through chop like a hot knife through butter… not that Yamba had much chop going on.
Look how narrow and sleek it is … sigh…
Jacob took out the AdvancedFrame Expedition inflatable kayak, which remains his favourite.
We did a poll with the pelicans when we returned to see which kayak they though looked better…
All up it was a wonderful weekend and I would definitely recommend kayaking in Yamba!
Kayaking on the Clarence River at Yamba NSW
Yamba is a small coastal town in NSW, about 3 hours south of the Gold Coast. It has some beautiful beaches, bays and a stunning headland.
If you want to go kayaking on the Clarence River at Yamba, here are the details:
We launched from the sandy beach at the Moby Dick Resort.
As you can see from the map, we just mosied around the river mouth and the boat harbour, it was lovely.
*Important* Stay on the southside of the rock wall that splits the Clarence River mouth (highlighted on map) – the tide is very fast on the north side.
We took maybe 1.5-2 hours at a very leisurely pace.
We headed north west the next day and paddled for a while and returned – the kayaking is beautiful and all directions are lovely.
The AirFusion Elite and AdvancedFrame Expedition inflatable kayaks are perfect for us because:
- The AirFusion Elite is reasonably light at 15kg – easy for me to handle on my own
- They are both super fast – we were zooming along!
- They are both very durable – we don’t have to worry about submerged obstacles in creeks
BUT, they might not be the right kayaks for you.
It’s a lot of money down the drain if you get the wrong model, so it’s worth asking for my advice!Click HERE to get your FREE personalised kayak recommendation
About Oz Inflatable Kayaks
Hi, my name is Emily and over a decade ago I thought to myself “gee, I would really love to go kayaking … if only I had a big strong butler to help me get a kayak on and off roof racks. Oh, and several thousand dollars for the kayak and the roof racks (not to mention the cost of the butler)”.
To find a way to go paddling without a heavy hard-shell kayak, I started looking into inflatable kayaks. But I did NOT want a pool toy.
The Advanced Elements range of inflatable kayaks really blew me away (excuse the terrible pun).
Quality is not just about durability, it also means that the kayaks are comfortable and easy to paddle straight and fast.
It just so happens that I was also looking for a business opportunity at the same time…
Nowadays I specialise (and delight) in selling Advanced Elements inflatables to all kinds of people in Australia.
I know the range so well that I do personalised recommendation videos to help people choose the right kayak.
It’s a no-obligation service that I enjoy doing AND it helps me in the long run because my customers that get a recommendation get the right kayak, first time. They are HAPPY customers!Click HERE to get your FREE personalised kayak recommendation
